Deborah Louise Brown, author of "Celebrating Boomerdom: Resources for ROCKING the Second Half of Life"
I am a student of the human condition (my degree in Sociology serves me well) and I love to watch people interact with one another. I also love to chronicle life (mine and other people’s) and learn from every moment.
In addition to being a life-long learner who would rather go to school than almost anything else, I am an author, speaker and coach. My favorite work includes opportunities to help others strive for and achieve their highest and best in their businesses and their personal lives.
I like to tell people that I have lived in five countries, nine states, and 30 cities, and that I attended 10 elementary schools (grades 1-6). It makes me feel special, even though it was actually hard and scary a lot of the time.
Being the new kid on the block so many times definitely influenced my world view and my interaction with others. It also gave me great lessons in Resilience, Optimism, Courage and Kindness–the ROCK that shows up in many of my speaking engagement themes.
One of my books in the Boomer Series (in addition to parts of “Celebrating Boomerdom”) will take a hard look at marketing to the Boomer population (from an insider marketer’s point of view). “Wooing the Boomer Cohort” is a handbook for the uninitiated—those marketers who continually miss the mark in messaging to us or, worse yet, leave the Baby Boomer out of their marketing equation altogether! Trust me, they do this at their collective peril.
Another book I have on the drawing board is about inspiration, love and legacy called “Pathways to Wisdom.” It will be my greatest pleasure to share some quiet thoughts of my own along with the beautiful wisdom of Boomer thought leaders that I respect and cherish. For me, it’s all about connection and engagement—it’s how I ROCK!
